Bricolage White Paper Published by Perl.com

2004.09.02

The first in a series of articles that David has promised to write for the venerable Perl news site, Content Management with Bricolage offers a high-level overview of the content management competitive landscape and Bricolage's advantages over its competitors. Its goal is to serve as a white paper for organizational decision makers by providing background information on the many goals of content management and how Bricolage meets those goals.

There are a lot of different problem spaces covered by the term content Management, David says. Clearly no one product is right for all of them. What I wanted to do with this article was give people a sense of those problem spaces and the ones that Bricolage is designed to address--and address well.

Backing up this argument, David covers a number of the more important features of Bricolage, offering short descriptions for each and describing how they help to meet the ambitious content management needs of large organizations. The article concludes with a list of many of the sites known to be powered by Bricolage, as well as the promise of greater detail to come.

Future articles will cover Bricolage installation and configuration, document analysis and modeling, templating, and SOAP server tips and tricks.
