New Bricolage Site Templates

2005.01.10

Kineticode and the Bricolage developers are pleased to announce the third release of the Bricolage templates and elements that manage and generate the Bricolage Website. Version 1.2 contains a number of bug fixes, including one that caused empty Archive documents to be published. Another important improvement is that Article documents now always trigger the republication of relevant Archive documents. This allows any changes to teasers to be reflected in the archives without having to manually republish archives.

But perhaps the most significant change in this release is the inclusion of a new file, element_types.xml. This file contains a dump from the Bricolage SOAP server of the element types required to import the elements in the elements.xml file. SOAP support for element types is not included in the current stable release of Bricolage, but is available if Bricolage is installed from the trunk branch in the Subversion server. Support for element types in the SOAP server can be added to Bricolage 1.8.x using the patch by Scott Lanning.

A complete list of the changes in this release is available in the Changes document.
